This project stems from my direct family experience of relocating to China. Although it occurred only at the end of 2022, the memories already feel distant. Yet, precisely this temporal distance allows us to reflect on the ephemeral nature of our daily certainties. Individual freedom and our rights, often taken for granted, have been questioned by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a series of images, I intend to explore the contrast between the seemingly ordinary routine of our previous lifestyle and the extraordinary and complex challenges we faced on our journey to China. The shots depict days prolonged by a journey that, under normal circumstances, takes around ten hours, conveying the emotion and contemplation accompanying such a radical change in our existence.
